The State Executive Council has approved the construction of 20.8 km of Super Highway from Welcome to Yola (Rumde Killa) to Army Barrack Junction in Yola at a cost of 21.8 billion naira. The Council meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has also approved the construction of the Flyover Bridge at Mubi Roundabout in Jimeta at a cost of N9.2 billion naira. Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting, Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mrs. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, revealed that both projects have a timeframe of thirty and eighteen months, respectively, adding that they are meant to reduce traffic congestion and increase socioeconomic activities in the state. Mrs. Kofulto said the Council has also approved the construction of a warehouse in the Government House Yola to avoid hoodlums getting access to vandalizing government property in the name of palliative. She said the storage will have a capacity of 7800 metric tonnes of huge rice and similar grains and will be awarded to Medugu Commercial and Construction Company at a cost of N291 million naira only.
