Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commissioned a recycling hub in Yola on Thursday. The factory located at Sangere Bode along Numan Road is the first of its kind in the state. The factory will turn plastic waste into green job opportunities for youth in the state. Governor Umaru Fintiri, while speaking, thanked the development organizations for actualizing the project. He said his administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses to flourish. Earlier, the Country Director of Tear Fund, Mr. Joseph Aloo, thanked Governor Fintiri for his support in actualizing the first phase of the project, calling for partnerships with the government for environmental sustainability. The State Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Mohammed Sadiq, described the launch of the project as timely as the world is faced with pollution and other menaces affecting the environment. The factory was built by the Tear Fund and the Yola Renewal Foundation with the support of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and the Adamawa State Government.
