Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged off the construction of a super highway in Yola. The governor was represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, at the event on Tuesday. The governor said the superhighway will stretch from Welcome to Yola to Rumde Kila to AA Lawan Junction in the Yola South LGA Area. The project awarded to Mssrs Triacta Nigeria Limited covers a distance of 20.8 km with culverts, bridges, and drainages, costs over 21 billion naira, and will be completed in 30 months. In his remarks, the Commissioner of Works, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, called on the people of the community to take ownership of the project. The representative of Triacta Nigeria Limited thanked Governor Fintiri for the trust and confidence reposed in their company and the assured completion of the project to standard within the specific period. In their goodwill message, the Chairman of Yola South Local Government Area, Engineer Hamidu and the Commissioner For Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Reintegration, Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, I thanked Governor Fintiri for bringing the project to the area. Among the dignitaries who attended the event were members of the House of Assembly and commissioners.
