Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has added a $10,000 monthly allowance to Corp members deployed to serve in the state beginning in January 2024. Fintiri disclosed this while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 Corps members deployed to Adamawa State at Damare NYSC orientation camp in Girei LGA. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri maintained that the gesture was in response to the current hardship occasioned by the Federal Government’s policy on fuel subsidy removal. The governor further directed an immediate supply of 50 bags of rice, 10 bulls, and 10 Jerrycans of cooking oil to the corps members to make their orientation camp memorable. According to Fintiri, his administration considers the NYSC scheme in the state a strategic partner in the execution of government policies and programmes, particularly in areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development.
