Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has pledged to support security agencies in the fight against crime, and he said he will intensify his efforts to see that they succeed in the discharge of their duties. The governor made the remark when he received in his office the new Brigade Commander of the 23rd Armored Brigade, Brig. Gen. P. K. Zawaya. The outgoing brigade commander, Brig Gen. M. J. Gambo, who led the delegation, said he has worked in the state for sixteen months and has now been transferred to the Heritage Center in Abuja. He expressed confidence that his successor will deliver on his mandate, given that he is a thoroughbred fine officer. The incoming Brigade Commander, Brig Gen. PK Zawawa, assured the governor that he brings on board his best to see that he performs beyond expectations. Governor Fintiri further encouraged the new Brigade Commander to create better synergy with the government and other sister security agencies to ensure a zero crime rate in the state. He emphasized that crimes like banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, farmer/herder clashes, and all forms of nefarious activities must be nipped in the bud so that citizens can go about their normal lives without fear.
