Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on Adamawa citizens to appreciate and support the military. The Governor who was represented by the chief of staff Dr Amos Sunday Edger made the call during a novelty match organized at the Jimeta temporary stadium in Yola, Adamawa State. The governor explained that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an annual event marked on the 15th of January to commemorate the nation’s departed compatriots as well as to honor our living veterans. In their separate remarks, Brigadier General P K Zawaya Commander 23 Armour Brigade, and head of Service Adamawa State Pharmacist Shehu Isa Ardo applaud the commitment of the Nigerian Army. They however call on all to support the activities of the military to enable them to put in their best for the country. Other events that took place during the event were the tug of war between the army wives and Ex-military men and a football match between the governor’s team and the brigade commanders’ team. The commissioner of the Ministry of Information and Strategy Hon. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, Commissioner of Rural Infrastructure Hon. Titus Solomon, Hon. Aloisius Baba Doke, Barrister Wali Yakubu, military Officers, and permanent secretaries also attended the event.
