
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sustained his call on Youths and Women to acquire skills for them to be self-reliant and productive members of society. The governor was speaking while declaring open the home technology entrepreneurship skills and mindset development training held at the Technical College Yola. One hundred and five beneficiaries selected from the 21 local government areas will be undergoing rigorous training on liquid wash, air freshener, Vaseline making, and leather works among other skills. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the empowerment program was envisioned by the Fresh Air administration to develop individuals in various aspects of skills to enable them to be self-independent and employers of labour. Represented by his deputy professor Kaletapwa Farauta, he stressed that human capital development remains one of the cardinal agenda of Governor Fintiri-led government, hence the training in fulfillment of its campaign promises to Youths and women, to lift them out of poverty and unemployment. According to him, the government will continue to support them, saying the training is a gateway to acquiring practical skills that can be transformed into thriving businesses. The commissioner for entrepreneurship development James Iliya commended the government of Adamawa for the initiative targeted at empowering Youths and women with skills and ideas to control their businesses. He revealed that starter packs will be given to them at the end of the training. The deputy permanent secretary Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development Amina Bashir Tukur, head of PAWECA Aishatu Bawa Bello among other speakers also saluted Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his foresight in providing means of livelihood to women and Youths as the most critical segment of any community. They are optimistic that it will provide productive Youths and women for a better society.
