NDLEA CHAIRMAN INSPECTS YOLA BARRACKS PROJECT, ACKNOWLEDGES PRESIDENT TINUBU’S SUPPORT

Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), recently visited the NDLEA barracks in Yola, Adamawa state, to inspect the ongoing construction project. Expressing gratitude, Marwa highlighted the agency’s appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support in combating substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking. During the inspection, Marwa commended the quality of work at the barracks, noting that it was nearing completion. He emphasized the significance of the project in providing proper accommodation for NDLEA personnel, enhancing their efficiency in combating drug-related crimes. Marwa also reiterated the agency’s commitment beyond mere enforcement, emphasizing the importance of addressing the root causes of substance abuse. He highlighted collaborative efforts with various stakeholders to raise awareness and tackle drug demand reduction. Furthermore, Marwa hinted at an upcoming briefing where significant seizures and arrests related to dismantling drug cartels operating across borders would be disclosed, underscoring the agency’s continuous efforts in combating drug trafficking. The visit not only underscored progress in infrastructure development but also highlighted the multifaceted approach employed by the NDLEA in combating the menace of drug abuse and trafficking.
