Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed commitment to partner Taraba state government to revamp the peace building processes with a view adding value on the lives of the people of the two states. Fintiri stated this at the opening ceremony of the long aged Nwonyo fishing festival in Taraba state. The Nwonyo fishing festival was originated in 1903 and has over the years preserves tradition and promotes conservation of the national heritage of the people which is holding in Ibbi local government area of Taraba State. The annual festival which is a two-day cultural event Marks the start of the fishing season beginning with water sport display, masquerade dances, traditional entertainment and ends with spectacular fishing competition on a second day. Governor Ahmadu Umaru fintiri on the event lauded governor kefas Agbu for a renewed effort in conservation and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Taraba State. He described the event as a force that can bond the society stronger, promote peace among the community
