Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State restated his administration’s commitment to economic recovery and growth, inviting investors to take advantage of myriad opportunities created in the state.
The Governor stated this on Sunday, the day dedicated to Adamawa State at the 15th North-East Joint Domestic Trade Fair holding at IBB Square Bauchi.
Governor Fintiri says the trade fair provides a platform for businesses to connect, innovate, and grow, “We are inviting investors to witness firsthand the opportunities that abound in Adamawa State and the North East at large.”
He reveals that recognizing the critical role of entrepreneurship in driving development, the government has established the Ministry for Entrepreneurship Development and Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA).
Governor Fintiri added that the state is blessed with vast and fertile arable land, ideal for crop production as well as tourism sites such as Sukur World Heritage centre among others that have the potentials to attract investors.
“Our state is also endowed with a large livestock population, including cattle, goats, sheeps, and pigs, which positions us as a significant player in the agricultural sector.
“The industry is further supported by extensive grazing reserves located strategically across the state, ensuring that our livestock can thrive and contribute to our economy,” he said.
He therefore encourages all participants to engage fully, explore new partnerships, and take advantage of the myriad opportunities that the fair presents for the benefits of the region and Nigeria as a whole.
The Governor stresses that the re-establishment of the North East Joint Domestic Trade Fair is not merely a celebratory occasion but to reopen an economy that has faced tremendous challenges over the past decade.
“As we navigate the path towards economic recovery, let us remember that our strength lies in our unity and our shared vision for a prosperous future. Together, we can overcome any challenge and unlock the full potential of our region,” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner of Commerce and Trade and Industry, Dr Ishaya Dabari stressed that the infrastructure put in place by the Fintiri administration has made the state a safe hub for investments.
Highlight of the event was inspection of Adamawa Pavilion by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to see for himself considerable items brought at the trade fair by people of Adamawa State.
