EMPOWERING WOMEN, UPLIFTING ADAMAWA: GOVERNOR FINTIRI UNVEILS SECOND PHASE OF THE FINTIRI BUSINESS WALLET INITIATIVE

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri officially launched the second phase of the Fintiri Business Wallet, a key element in Adamawa State’s strategy for poverty reduction and wealth creation. The event, held at Ahmadu Ribadu Square, saw the distribution of ₦50,000 to 10,000 women throughout the state.

In his speech, Governor Fintiri highlighted the initiative’s crucial role in combating poverty, promoting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and empowering women in Adamawa. He noted that the program is a cornerstone of his administration’s 8-Point Agenda, which prioritizes youth and women development, poverty reduction, and commerce.

Additionally, Governor Fintiri announced the purchase of 31 buses to be distributed to tertiary institutions across the state’s 21 local governments. He also detailed plans for job creation in the public sector following the reconciliation of the minimum wage.

Michael Zirah, Director General of PAWECA, praised the achievement and expressed gratitude for Governor Fintiri’s steadfast support of women’s empowerment. He also highlighted PAWECA’s successes, including vocational training for over 20,000 youths and 5,000 students.

In his keynote address, Hon. Hammajumba Gatugel, Commissioner of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development, lauded the Fintiri administration’s commitment to youth and women empowerment, positioning it as essential for a prosperous future. He encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the funds, emphasizing the importance of home-based businesses for economic development.

Other dignitaries, including Hon. Bathiya Wesley, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, delivered remarks commending the Fintiri administration’s historic empowerment efforts and their positive impact on crime reduction through strategic poverty alleviation.

The launch of the second phase of the Fintiri Business Wallet marks a major step forward in reducing poverty and boosting economic growth in Adamawa State, in line with Governor Fintiri’s vision for inclusive governance.
