The reconstruction of Yola town main market, in Yola South local government area destroyed by fire about five months ago will gulp sum of N2,937, 217,120.45 kobo.
Dr John Dabari, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, disclosed to journalists on Wednesday after State Executive Council (SEC) meeting presided over by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta at the Government House in Yola, said the new market will house 69 modern shops.
Dabari said the remodelling of the market which is expected to be completed within nine months would involve the use of modern architectural plan and design to reduce the prevalence of fire outbreaks.
He said government’s decision to rebuild the market was made imperative to enable resumption of full commercial activities in Yola Town.
