Keynote Address on Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation

On October 17, 2024, Her Excellency Prof. Kaletapwa G. Farauta delivered a keynote speech on behalf of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the African Cybersecurity Defense Forum in KIGALI, RWANDA.

The speech, titled!“Strengthening Cybersecurity and Advancing Digital Transformation in Adamawa State, Nigeria,” highlighted the state’s commitment to digital innovation and stressed the importance of securing its expanding digital infrastructure.

Governor Fintiri emphasized that Adamawa State is fully committed to embracing the digital revolution, recognizing that the future will be shaped by the ability to safeguard its digital infrastructure, enhance access to technology, and implement effective cybersecurity initiatives. He noted:

 “Our government is deliberate in its efforts to protect critical infrastructure through strategic cybersecurity initiatives. These efforts are aimed at ensuring that our digital platforms remain secure and resilient in the face of emerging technological threats.”

Call for Strategic Partnerships

The Governor extended an invitation to global and African ICT experts to partner with the Adamawa State government in the areas of cybersecurity and emerging technologies. He emphasized that such collaborations are essential for building resilience, strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem, fostering innovation, and safeguarding digital infrastructure from emerging threats.

Forum Highlights

The African Cybersecurity Defense Forum, held in KIGALI, RWANDA, brought together leading experts, policymakers, and technology innovators from across Africa and beyond.

The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas and promoting regional cooperation, focusing on practical solutions to protect Africa’s digital infrastructure from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

Governor Fintiri’s participation underscores Adamawa State’s proactive approach to digital transformation and reaffirms its commitment to becoming a secure, innovation-driven state in the fast-evolving technological landscape.
