GOVERNOR FINTIRI SIGNS LAW TO CREATE 83 NEW DISTRICTS IN ADAMAWA STATE

News

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has signed into law a bill providing for the creation of 83 new districts in the state. The development follows the passage of a bill by the Adamawa State House of Assembly to repeal and re-enact the Adamawa State Districts Creation Law, 2024.

The signing ceremony took place in the Governor’s office at the Government House in Yola, where Governor Fintiri expressed optimism about the positive impact of the new law. He stated that the creation of additional districts would not only enhance administrative efficiency but also contribute to the reduction of criminal activities in the state by fostering closer governance and improved community engagement.

The Governor also announced that the salaries of district heads and their staff would henceforth be paid by local government councils, with periodic reviews to align with prevailing economic realities. This initiative, he noted, reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the people while promoting sustainable development across the state.

Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to meeting the demands of citizens for improved governance and infrastructure, emphasizing that the law’s enactment underscores the state’s commitment to grassroots development and security.
