MICHIKA MAKES HISTORY: CORONATION OF HRM. PROFESSOR GADIGA AS MBEGE KA MICHIKA 1

Today, history was made as the Kamwe (Higgi) people of Michika celebrated a significant milestone—the official installation of HRM. Professor Bulus Luka Gadiga as Mbege Ka Michika 1. The grand ceremony was more than just a coronation; it was a powerful testament to the resilience, unity, and rich cultural heritage of the Kamwe people.

The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, graced the historic occasion, expressing heartfelt joy and emphasizing the importance of unity and community spirit. He praised the Kamwe people’s enduring legacy, tracing their vibrant history back to the 15th century and highlighting their remarkable contributions across diverse fields.

The creation of the Michika Chiefdom stands as a direct response to the longstanding aspirations of the community—an initiative aimed at unlocking local resources, promoting cultural identity, and driving sustainable development. Governor Fintiri called on the people to embrace peace, unity, and collaboration, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture in the region.

In his acceptance speech, Professor Gadiga embraced the mantle of leadership with humility and determination. He expressed profound gratitude to Governor Fintiri for championing the establishment of the Chiefdom and pledged to lead with integrity, transparency, and inclusivity. He passionately called for unity among the people, urging elders to offer their wisdom and encouraging youth to use social media as a force for positivity and community building.

To honor Governor Fintiri’s steadfast support and visionary leadership, Professor Gadiga announced the conferment of the prestigious title “Dluka Ka Michika” upon him—a symbol of deep appreciation and mutual respect.

Senator Amos Yohanna also extended his heartfelt congratulations, offering prayers for the continued greatness and prosperity of the Michika Chiefdom.
