Mathew Nyagra Sunday was born at Madugura, Mubi North Local Government Area on 16th June, 1967. He attended Madanye Primary School then proceeded to Government Secondary School Mubi in 1981. Thereafter, he enrolled at the College of Preliminary Studies for a two years Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examinations.
He obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Law from University of Jos in 1992. After which he proceeded to the Nigeria Law School Lagos and was called to the Bar. He completed his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 1994.
As a legal practitioner, he joined Mustapha and Associates, where he served between 1995-2001 after which he set up his company known as SM Nyagra & Co.
He was at one time or the other a member of Adamawa State Executive Council or member of Adamawa State PDP Caretaker Committee. He is presently the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development.
