He was born in Jimeta on 19th April, 1965. He went to Yelwa Primary School Jimeta and General Murtala Muhammed College, Yola for Secondary School Education. Then proceeded to Federal University of Technology, Yola where he obtained a Diploma in Public Administration. Alh. Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji is a grassroots politician. He was first elected a Councilor of Limawa Ward in Yola North LGA, then elected Council Chairman for Yola North Local Government Council and then re-elected again in 2004.
He was at one time a Commissioner of Land and Survey Under former Governor Bindow and later appointed the same position by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led Administration.
