12th North East Governor’s Forum Meeting Opens In Jalingo, Taraba State.

The 12th meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum has officially opened today in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and other governors of the North East geopolitical zone in attendance.

The meeting was formally declared open by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, who delivered a keynote speech highlighting the importance of unity and sustained efforts to tackle the challenges facing the North East, including insecurity, infrastructure deficits and displacements.

In a welcome address, the host Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas expressed delight at receiving his fellow governors and emphasized the need for deeper cooperation and shared vision in promoting peace, economic growth, and infrastructure development.

The opening session was followed by a closed-door meeting where the governors are expected to receive presentations from North East Development Commission, NIGCOMSAT, University of Maiduguri among others.

They are also expected to deliberate on a wide range of issues affecting the zone and the country at large. The official communique and resolutions from the meeting are expected at the end of the closed door meeting.
