BEYOND ALLOWANCES: ADAMAWA GOVERNMENT INVESTS IN STATE-OF-THE-ART NYSC ORIENTATION Camp

In a further demonstration of its commitment to youth development, welfare and promoting national unity. The Adamawa State Government under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commenced the construction of one of the most modern and largest National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps in Nigeria.

The project, which is currently ongoing, is strategically located in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, and is designed to meet contemporary standards for comfort, safety, and functionality. When completed, the facility is expected to significantly enhance the orientation experience of corps members deployed to the state.

This development complements the state government’s earlier approval and consistent payment of a ₦30,000 monthly allowance to corps members serving in Adamawa State, a policy widely regarded as one of the most competitive welfare packages for NYSC members across the country.

Stakeholders have described the project as a clear indication of the administration’s recognition of the vital role corps members play in national development, particularly in critical sectors such as education, health, and community development.

Upon completion, the new orientation camp is expected to reduce congestion, improve training efficiency, and position Adamawa State as a preferred destination for corps members nationwide
