NORTH-EAST NEC COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN VISITS CITIZENS’ EYES AND EARS TECHNOLOGICAL HUB CENTRE, ADAMAWA STATE PLANNING COMMISSION.

The North-East Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) Committee and Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Borno State, Hon. Dr. Maina Yaumi, paid a courtesy visit to the Adamawa State Planning Commission and the Citizens’ Eyes and Ears Technological Hub Centre in Yola.

The visit was aimed at strengthening regional collaboration, promoting knowledge sharing, and exploring innovative approaches to planning, citizen engagement, and technology-driven governance across the North-East region.

During the visit, Hon. Dr. Maina Yaumi was received by the management of the Adamawa State Planning Commission, where he was briefed on the Commission’s strategic initiatives, development planning processes, monitoring and evaluation systems, and digital transformation efforts that support evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development in Adamawa State.

The Hon. Commissioner also toured the Citizens’ Eyes and Ears Technological Hub Centre where he was introduced to the Centre’s innovative digital platforms designed to enhance citizen participation, real-time community reporting, project monitoring, social accountability, and data-driven decision-making. The visitors commended the Centre’s use of modern technology to bridge the gap between government and citizens while improving transparency, accountability, and service delivery.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Dr. Maina Yaumi applauded the Adamawa State Planning Commission for its commitment to innovation and the adoption of digital solutions in development planning. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among North-East states in leveraging technology to improve governance, strengthen public institutions, and accelerate socio-economic development across the region.

The Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Planning Commission expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with sister states and development partners to promote regional integration, innovation, and sustainable development.

The visit concluded with an interactive session where ideas were exchanged on best practices in planning, digital governance, and the deployment of technology to improve government responsiveness and citizen engagement throughout the North-East.
