ADAMAWA STATE CELEBRATES WORLD TOILET’ DAY IN MUBI TOWN

Today, the Governor of Adamawa State Ably Represented by the Commissioner of Water Resources Honourable Audu Ayuba, Nigerian Red Cross Society, with the full Support of other Partners, joins the world in Marking World Toilet Day in Kolere Primary and Secondary Schools in Kolere Ward, Mubi North Local Government.

The Event, held in Akwabu , Kolere Ward Brought together community Leaders, Development Partners, Volunteers, and Government Officials to Spotlight the Critical importance of safe and accessible Toilets for all.

Addressing Attendees, the Commissioner of Water Resources Honourable Audu Ayuba Described sanitation as a Fundamental Human Right vital to public Health, Dignity, and community wellbeing. He Underscored this Year’s theme, “Safe Toilets, Safe Communities,” Noting that Proper Sanitation Safeguards families Against Disease, Curbs environmental Pollution, and Contributes to Stronger, More Resilient Communities.

Reaffirming Adamawa State Government commitment to Expanding WASH ( Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services, the General Manager emphasized the agency’s focus on community Mobilization, Behavioural change Campaigns, and Sustained collaboration with Partners to Extend sanitation Coverage, Especially in vulnerable and Underserved communities.

He Called On Traditional Leaders to Champion improved Hygiene Practices, Urged Households to Maintain Proper Toilet use, and Appealed to Government Stakeholders and Partners to increase investment in Sanitation infrastructure.

He Encouraged Residents in Mubi Town to Renew their Commitment to ensuring that every home, school, and public facility in Adamawa State has Access to safe and functional toilets.

He concluded by stressing that sanitation is not only a health Priority but also a Development, Security, and Gender issue, stating that “when Toilets are safe, Communities become Stronger.”

In His Remarks On Behalf of Governor of Adamawa State Honourable Audu Ayuba Said “We Continue to Promote safe Sanitation, Hygiene Education, and Access to clean toilets as key steps to Protecting Health and Dignity in Our Communities and Together, We Reaffirm Our Commitment to Building a Cleaner, Safer and Healthier Environment for all.
