ADVOCACY AND ROUNDTABLE DIALOGUE WORKSHOP ON GENDER RESPONSIVE PLANNING HELD AT AUN HOTEL YOLA FROM 5TH_7TH MAY 2026.

The Supporting Sustainable Social Protection Participation and Economic Resilience in Northeast Nigeria (SEPIN SUSI) programme, co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) the European Union (EU) and implemented by GIZ organized a 3-day Advocacy and Roundtable Dialogue Workshop on Gender Responsive Planning for female political and non political actors in Yola Adamawa State.

Gender Responsive planning entails, Developing policies, project and budget that deliberately addresses gender disparities by analysing the distinct needs,roles and constraints of men and women. It ensures equitable distribution of resources through gender budgeting and promote equal participation aiming to transform unequal gender relations.
For the effectiveness of gender Responsive planning,major stake holders like the Government through the MDA’S and using the planning commission plan the inclusion of the Gender Responsive planning in to the planning process.The traditional Institution who are the gate way to having access to the people,The civil societies, women organizations,like The NCWS National council of women societies,The FIDA,other organizations that are expertise in Gender relay planing and implementation.
The Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was appreciated for being a Gender friendly Governor by the appointment of women into the executive council, female permanent secretaries, and local Government vice chairpersons.The adoption of a Gender participatory approach to gender planning can identity the problem, needs, and expectations of the women and men whose lives will be directly affected by the policy. Increased participants empowerment trust in public institutions can also assist in preventing and managing risk . .
