Delegation of the EU SARAH Project and UNICEF Joint Mission with UNFPA Visit the Adamawa State Planning Commission to Strengthen Community Service Delivery

A high-level delegation from the SARAH Project, in collaboration with UNICEF and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), paid a courtesy visit to the Adamawa State Planning Commission as part of their ongoing joint mission to deliver critical community services across the state.

The visit provided an opportunity to engage with state leadership on aligning humanitarian and development interventions with Adamawa’s long-term planning priorities. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to improve health, education, nutrition, and protection services, with special emphasis on women, children, and youth in vulnerable communities.

Key areas highlighted during the engagement include:

  • Health & Nutrition: Expanding maternal, neonatal, and child health services, and addressing malnutrition.
  • Education & Learning: Supporting access to inclusive, safe, and quality education, particularly in conflict-affected LGAs.
  • Gender-Based Violence (GBV) & Protection: Enhancing survivor-centered response services and community awareness.
  • Youth Empowerment: Promoting livelihood skills, leadership, and participation opportunities for adolescents.
