The second day of the High-Level Stakeholders’ Engagement Workshop on Participatory Planning, organized by GIZ, continued in Abuja with a strong focus on inclusive development, gender mainstreaming, and deepened community engagement. Stakeholders from Borno, Plateau, Taraba, and Adamawa States shared experiences on citizen engagement processes, highlighting practical approaches, successes, and lessons learned across the four states. Day 2 was marked by highly interactive sessions, including a key presentation on gender inclusivity and mainstreaming, underscoring the importance of ensuring that development planning processes are both equitable and representative. Participants engaged in group discussions centered on the Community Engagement Participatory Planning (CEPP) Policy in Adamawa State, identifying major achievements, persistent challenges, and recommendations for policy review and improvement. The workshop continues to provide a platform for collaborative development planning and peer learning, as stakeholders work together to strengthen participatory governance across the region.
