GIZ Nigeria is conducting a five-day event from 18–22 May 2026 at Zuma Rock Resort, Suleja, Abuja.IZ Nigeria, through the “Supporting Sustainable Social Protection, Participation, and Economic Resilience in Northeast Nigeria (SEPIN SUSI)” programme, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union (EU), is implementing pilot Shock-Responsive Social Protection (SRSP) interventions targeting households affected by covariate shocks, crises, and climate-related risks. The initiative aims to reduce vulnerability while strengthening resilience and self-reliance among affected populations in Borno State and Adamawa State.
The event comprises two components: a learning event and an SRSP/Anticipatory Action Plan (AAP) Refinement Workshop. The sessions foster dialogue among government representatives, humanitarian and development partners, and beneficiaries to validate and share key insights from the pilot programme. The refinement workshop specifically focuses on updating and validating the State Anticipatory Action Plan frameworks and operational plans for both Adamawa and Borno States.
Participants were drawn from the Federal and State Government MDAs, CSOs and other Development Partners. In attendance particularly were the:
Executive Chairman of Adamawa State Planning Commission, Directors of Budget & Planning, SEMA and Ministries of Finance of both States. Also present were development partners, financial institutions, donor organizations, and representatives from the civil society organizations. The selection reflects a multi-stake holder approach aimed at fostering inclusive participation, strengthening coordination, and promoting collaborative engagement among key actors involved in social protection, humanitarian response, economic resilience, and related development initiatives.
