A two-day workshop on stress management was today held at Alheri Hotel, Yola, Adamawa State capital.
The workshop which was jointly facilitated by the office of the first lady and the Ministry of Local Government Affairs had as participants women from across the State including; the Honorable Commissioners of Women Affairs and Transport, the Executive Chairman, State Planning Commission, the vice chairpersons of the 21 LGAs, Special Advisers, female Permanent Secretaries, Directors, women leaders of political parties, friends and entourage of Her Excellency amongst others.
Speakers at the event rolled out the meaning, types, dangers of stress and how to prevent and manage same.
In her keynote address, Her Excellency, Hajia Lami Umaru Fintiri highlighted the dangers of women being victims of stress due to the multi tasking nature of women in general. She charged women to learn to delegate duties where possible, drop activities that can be shelved off and avoid others where necessary so as to live a stress free life.
Earlier in her opening remark, the Hon. Commissioner Women Affairs Hon. Neido enumerated reasons why every woman should watch out for all acts that could lead to stress as the repercussions are numerous. Other speakers included the Chief Judge if Adamawa State, Dr. Jidere, etc.
There were questions and answers bordering on stress management at the end of the paper presentations which enlightened the participants further.
