SENSITIZATION OF THE ADAMAWA STATE TEN YEAR STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2025-2035 STEERING COMMITTEE

On October 27, 2025, the Deputy Governor’s Conference Hall buzzed with energy as stakeholders and community members gathered for a one-day sensitization workshop on the Adamawa State Ten Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) for 2025-2035.
This important event, organized by the Adamawa State Planning Commission (ASPC), was all about laying out the strategic framework that will steer the state’s development over the next decade.
The workshop kicked off with a warm welcome from the Permanent Secretary of the ASPC, who set the stage for discussions on the crucial role of strategic planning in the state’s future.

In her keynote address, Dr. Mary Paninga, the Executive Chairman of the ASPC, highlighted that this upcoming 10-year strategic plan is a sustainability initiative that builds on the successes of the previous 5-year Medium Term Development Plan (2020-2025). “This new plan is crafted to enhance the significant progress we’ve made over the last five years, ensuring that our advancements are sustainable,” she explained.
The Secretary to the Government of Adamawa State (SSG), represented by Hon. Commissioner Iliya James from the Ministry of Information and Strategy, emphasized the essential role of planning in fostering development. “The positive transformations we see in Adamawa today stem directly from effective planning,” he noted, encouraging all stakeholders to rally behind the new strategic plan.

Throughout the event, honorable members from various constituencies, including Mayo-Belwa, Demsa, Song, Uba/Gaya, and Nasarowo/Binyere, and some Honourable Commissioners present shared their goodwill messages. They expressed their dedication to supporting the development initiatives outlined in the SDP, demonstrating a united commitment to advancing Adamawa State.

Dr. Josephat Ogar, Lead Consultant from HPMC Consultants, shared insights into the firm’s approach to crafting the 10-Year Strategic Development Plan. He elaborated on the collaborative process that will be involved, ensuring that all voices are heard in shaping the future of the state.
