VICE CHAIRMEN OF THE 21 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS IN ADAMAWA STATE HONOUR GOVERNOR AHMADU UMARU FINTIRI WITH AN AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN RECOGNITION OF HIS PEOPLE-ORIENTED LEADERSHIP, GRASSROOT DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES, AND COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured Vice Chairmen of the twenty-one local government areas in Adamawa State that all their entitlements and benefits will be fully paid before the end of their tenure in office.

The governor gave the assurance while receiving members of the Association of Vice Chairmen of Local Government Areas at the Government House in Yola.

He stressed that no official who served faithfully under his administration would be denied their rightful benefits after leaving office.

Governor Fintiri also assured those who may not return to office after the expiration of their tenure that government would continue to accommodate and support them through appointments and other opportunities to contribute to governance.

Governor Fintiri described the vice chairmen as an important part of his political structure and commended them for appreciating the achievements of his administration.

He noted that, as grassroots leaders, they were in the best position to assess the impact of government policies and programmes on the people.

The governor further explained that the decision of his administration to appoint women as vice chairmen across the twenty-one local government areas was a deliberate effort aimed at promoting inclusive governance and strengthening grassroots participation.

According to him, the initiative has proved successful and is now being replicated by other states across the country.

He also urged the vice chairmen and party members to remain committed to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and work towards ensuring victory for the party in the twenty twenty-seven general elections, while supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Earlier, the Association of Vice Chairmen of Local Government Areas in Adamawa State commended Governor Fintiri for his inclusive leadership style and commitment to grassroots development.

Speaking on behalf of the association during the appreciation visit, Sara Samuel, Vice Chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, said the governor had demonstrated people-oriented leadership by carrying local government officials, women, and youths along in governance.

She noted that his open-door policy and support for local government administration had given vice chairmen across the state a stronger sense of belonging and enabled them to contribute meaningfully to grassroots development.

The association also appreciated the governor for investing in the growth and capacity building of local government leaders through workshops, training programmes, and sponsored trips.

According to the delegation, some vice chairmen benefited from international exposure, including visits to the Holy Land, which broadened their leadership experience and strengthened their capacity to represent Adamawa State effectively.

The vice chairmen further praised the Deputy Governor for her supportive role in governance and also acknowledged the humanitarian contributions of the governor’s wife towards assisting vulnerable families and restoring hope to the less privileged across the state.

The delegation later presented the governor with an Award of Excellence as a symbol of appreciation, loyalty, and admiration for his leadership and service to humanity.
