Governor Fintiri Visits Guyuk, Flags Off Roads, Pledges Electrification Projects

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Tuesday continued his tour of Adamawa State’s 21 local government areas with a visit to Guyuk, where he announced major infrastructure interventions aimed at improving the lives of residents.

During the visit, the Governor made several significant pledges, including connecting Bobini and Bodeno wards to the national electricity grid and officially flagging off construction of the eight-kilometre Banjiramโ€“Chikila road.

Governor Fintiri also committed to building two and a half kilometres of township roads within the Guyuk metropolitan area, describing these projects as part of his administration’s comprehensive development agenda.


In a directive issued during the visit, Governor Fintiri instructed the Commissioner for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr. Titus Obadiah, to ensure that Bobini and Bodeno wards are connected to the national grid within six months.

This directive followed passionate appeals from community leaders and the Kwandi Nungura, who highlighted that these wards have been without electricity since their creation decades ago.

The Governor also addressed other critical needs in the area, urged the Commissioner for Water Resources to fast-track the ongoing water project to ensure households have access to potable water

Healthcare: Assured residents that the second phase of Guyuk Cottage Hospital rehabilitation will soon commence, with plans to upgrade it to a full General Hospital

Road Infrastructure: The Banjiramโ€“Chikila road project, which has been long-awaited by residents, is expected to improve access and boost economic activities
