ADAMAWA STATE GOVT, EMPOWER LOCAL LEADERS WITH MODALITIES TO ADDRES MALNUTRITION IN THE STATE.

As part of effort to address the alarming increase in undernutrition ,the Adamawa state govt in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have held a two day training program for council chairpersons and their deputies The training, held at the Government House in Yola, aimed to educate participants on the repercussions of malnutrition within their respective communities and how to deal with them.

The Adamawa State Planning Commission and UNICEF led the training for the twenty-one council chairpersons and their deputies, focusing on the prevailing nutrition landscape and financing strategies.

Participants were provided with an overview of the current nutritional status in Adamawa State and the existing funding gaps for essential interventions.

Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Planning Commission Dr Mary Paninga, unveiled the strategies the state government is employing to address various aspects of undernutrition

Participants at the event, commended Governor Fintiri’s leadership and his commitment to reforming outdated policies and procedures within the state.

The council chairperson of Fufore LGA  Hon Peace Audu on behalf of participants, publicly reaffirmed their dedication to implementing the nutritional policy initiatives proposed by Governor Fintiri

The training program also included presentations by UNICEF nutrition experts, as well as an interactive question-and-answer session.
