VISIT OF THE MONITORING AND EVALUATION TEAM FROM THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF BUDGET AND ECONOMIC PLANNING TO ADAMAWA STATE

News:FEDERAL MONITORING AND EVALUATION TEAM VISITS ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNMENT ON DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS A team from the Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has concluded an official visit to Adamawa State as part of its routine oversight and project assessment activities. The visit focused on inspecting key developmental projects and evaluating the impact of government interventions, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and technological innovation. The team commenced its engagement with a courtesy visit to the Adamawa State Planning Commission in Yola, where they were received by the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Mary Paninga, alongside the Honourable Commissioners of Works and that of Budget and Economic Planning, as well as other senior state officials. One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of the Adamawa State Technological Monitoring Hub, located within the Planning Commission. The Federal delegation lauded the state government for establishing the Hub, describing it as a forward-thinking initiative for data-driven development, innovation tracking, and real-time project monitoring. As part of their field assessment, the team visited several strategic project sites across the state, including: • Bekaji Underpass Construction in Jimeta, Yola, where they were briefed on the project’s scope, expected completion timeline, and its anticipated benefits such as improved traffic flow and enhanced urban infrastructure. • Adamawa State Stadium, currently under construction, which aims to boost sports development and youth engagement. The team expressed satisfaction with the project’s scale and its potential to nurture local talent. • Projects in Numan and Girei Local Government Areas, where the team inspected a number of ongoing infrastructure and social projects, including roads, schools, and healthcare facilities. The assessment focused on the quality of execution and their relevance to the local communities. In their preliminary remarks, the Monitoring and Evaluation team noted that the projects reviewed align well with national development priorities. They commended the Adamawa State Government for its evident commitment to infrastructure growth and innovation. The team emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration between federal and state institutions to ensure efficient project delivery and measurable developmental outcomes. Their visit is expected to guide future policy direction, funding priorities, and intergovernmental support mechanisms at both state and federal levels.
