ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNMENT REITERATES MORE COMMITEMENTS FOR CROSS BORDER EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATION

The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting quality education for a productive society. This statement was made during a visit from a delegation of the University of Garoua, Cameroon, aiming to strengthen academic ties with Modibbo Adama University, Yola. Strengthening Academic Ties: Professor Farauta emphasized the potential of academic partnerships between Nigeria and Cameroon due to shared cultural, economic, and historical ties. Youth Engagement through Education: The Deputy Governor highlighted the importance of initiatives shaping young minds towards peaceful coexistence and community development. She further assured the delegation of the state government ‘s readiness to provide the leadership and resources necessary for the growth of the university of Garou. Responding the vice chancellor of the university of Garoua Professor Boubakari Oumarou said the institution established in 2022 is eager to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Modibbo Adama University for academic collaboration. Professor Illiyasu Audu, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic )of Modibbo Adama University, noted that the partnership aims to foster exchanges in fields like science, arts, humanities, medicine, and more, describing it as a strategic step towards broadening the scope of knowledge through exchange programs for staff and students. Professor Farauta has consistently emphasized that education has remained the top priority for Adamawa state Development.
